"Spring Fever" was a waste of everyone's time and money." -Joan Crawford "Spring Fever" 1927 Cast: William Haines, Joan Crawford(as Allie Monte), George K. Arthur, George Fawcett, Eileen Percy, Edward Earle, Bert Woodruff,
Lee Moran
Movie Synopsis The snooty, rich Allie Monte (Joan) gets involved with Jack Kelly (William Haines), a mere shipping clerk and golf whiz who's posing as his bosses nephew at an exclusive country club. They fall in love and marry, however when Jack (William Haines) tells his new bride the truth about his humble employ, she leaves him, disgusted. Instead of returning to his job as clerk, Allie (William Haines) decides to enter a championship golf tournament, with first prize being $10,000. Remember, this is back in 1927, so first prize of $10,000 would most certainly be a life changing sum of money. Interesting Trivia Box Office Receipts - $505,000.

Reviews Variety (1927) said, "Haines is a likeable personality and should travel far. This picture, however, will not help him
much. The players do well all around and Ralph Spence's titles contribute effectively on the comedy end, but the director,
Sedgwick, could not cope with a weak theme."
